The Dunham Fund has enthusiastically supported extracurricular Robotics Clubs in Indian Prairie School District 204. This most recent grant will fund further expansion with the purchase of new robotics equipment and make it possible to create four more clubs, allowing up to 120 additional students to participate.
It’s an initiative that goes hand-in-hand with STEM learning, helping students learn the basics in science, technology, engineering and math. In District 204, the total number of schools providing Robotics Clubs during the 2017-18 school year has grown to 22 of 33 schools. Each school can host 4-6 teams of five students per team, extending potential opportunities to more than 600 students. District 204 plans to host up to three robotics tournaments in 2017-18 after qualifying five teams for state and national competitions the year prior.
