Area Nonprofits Score Big with the 2020 #GivingTuesday Campaign!
Close to 5,600 donors generously contributed nearly $1.3 million to 59 Fox Valley service agencies. Earlier this year, the Dunham Fund provided virtual marketing workshops to help local nonprofits become prepared for this fundraising event.
The Dunham Fund and the Community Foundation of the Fox River Valley collectively provided an additional $24,000 in incentive awards this year. The following eligible organizations’ names were drawn at random to each receive a $2,000 incentive award at 2020 #GivingTuesday Virtual Celebration that was held on December 15th.

A Trusted Partner to Nonprofits and Grantmakers
Forefront is making a vibrant social impact by providing education, advocacy, and thought-leadership to nonprofits and grantmakers in Illinois. Since 2011, Forefront has partnered with the Dunham Fund to provide training, resources, and fundraising opportunities for the Aurora area and Fox River Valley’s nonprofit community.
Forefront’s trainings have included workshops on nonprofit financial health, prospect research, strategic partnerships, and digital fundraising. Over the last four years, the Fall Workshop Series has been dedicated to strengthening skills needed for a successful #GivingTuesday campaign. This year more than 5,500 generous donors gave nearly $1.3M to local nonprofits.
In 2016, the Dunham Fund began investing in Forefront’s Mission Sustainability Initiative (MSI), a program that provides confidential, friendly, and effective advice and resources to nonprofits in Kane County and surrounding areas. MSI refers organizations to pro bono legal assistance and paid consultants specializing in nonprofit strategic partnerships and offers a repository of toolkits, research, best practices, and educational events.

In November, Forefront announced that Monique Brunson Jones would join the organization as President & CEO starting in January 2021. Monique comes with an extensive background in mental health, violence prevention, and philanthropy and will be an incredible asset to Forefront and its work throughout the state of Illinois.
